"A relatively new addition to those interested in health and nutrition is Leptin, a hormone that controls all of the energy metabolism in the body.....Leptin is considered the Master Hormone, since it has been found to influence all of the other hormones in the body, and to control all of the functions of the hypothalamus."
"If leptin regulation in the body is out of balance, then it is assured that other hormones will be driven out of balance, leading to physiological dysfunction and various disease states."
"Until leptin was discovered, the thyroid was thought to be the main endocrine organ that regulated energy production."
Peat doesn't write much about it; I'm wondering why if it's so important. Apparently it controls all other hormones based on what and how often you eat.
What if current research is correct and metabolism isn't really controlled by the thyroid? That could mean eating frequent carb filled meals could be the reason you're still hypo and may be the reason you can't lose weight.
Eating a Peat inspired diet lowers energy, it probably doesn't raise it.
