I was thinking of this kind of thing:
Are canned prunes a Peat-friendly food? Too much of the wrong kind of fibre?
Well, most fiber isn't very good for you, carrot and bamboo being exceptions.
According to Danny Roddy:
"Some of Peat’s favored fruits: Orange, cherimoya, longan, lychee, grapes, pawpaw, sapote, plums, prunes, tangerines, dates, cherries, well ripened watermelons, and apple sauce."
I couldn't find the source though. I think it's interesting that he said dates as dates are high in iron.
I don't know how seriously to take the BPA concerns but it's easy enough to simply avoid commercially canned foods, really. Why not eat dried prunes or plum preserves (in glass jar)?
I think BPA is metabolized and excreted in a few days. But, if you have a very high intake (like if you use mouthguards), maybe they accumulate faster than you can get rid of them.
